PHYSICAL LITERACY - ANALYSIS OF FULFILMENT IN P.E. STANDARDS FOR 2. STEP OF BASIC SCHOOL (6.-9. CLASSES)

Abstract

The contribution deals in the initial part with educational reform, necessity of standards and physical literacy. The research checked out new established evaluations standards for 9. grade in elementary school through the questionnaire with 6 sub scales.

The results show, that pupil's success rate generally is not on expected level. The best knowledge was in the field Activities influenced health (58%), the worst in the area Activities influenced degree of motion skills (19%).

More than half of the sample does not cope with 3 from 4 analyzed fields. To the best trained skills belong swimming, athletic, basketball, the largest lack was at gymnastics, skiing and volleyball.

The pupils evaluated as high their knowledge in warm-up rules, importance of stretching exercises and principles of health life style. The great ignorance was discovered in rules of ball games and their referee, in knowledge about history and success in sport.

It is necessary to implement the established weaknesses in didactical topics in preparation of future teachers. They should mediate more also theoretical knowledge to their pupils (giving the first aid, compensation of weakening, history and rules of sport, activities influenced level of motion skills ...).
