Pregradual Education of Chemistry Teachers in Czech Republic

Abstract

This contribution summarizes the evolution of the pregradual education of chemistry teachers in Czech Republic (CR) and its current state. It shows a summary of chemistry-teacher-educating universities in CR and the characteristics of their differing conceptions of teacher preparation in bachelor and following master study programme at the faculties of Natural Sciences and/or Education.

The contribution gives information about educational plans of the study programmes and their comparison, based on processing of the current information from an extensive questionnaire survey in the area of subject-didactics education of future chemistry teachers throughout CR, organized by the professional group of Accreditation Commission (AC). The conclusion informs about proposals for a concept of teacher education curriculum that is currently being prepared by the professional group for subject didactics AC.
