Syntactic function and nominal case in corpus: Frequency analysis

Publication at Faculty of Arts |
2015

Abstract

The book presents an analysis of the relationship between the syntactic functions on one side and part of speech and nominal case of words on the other. The work is based on SYN2005 corpus, automatically syntactically annotated following the formalism of the analytical layer of Prague Dependency Treebank.

The book shows how often any given syntactic functions is realized by words of diverse parts of speech and/or nominal cases (inflected words), it also allows comparison of the frequency of events by genre subcorpora. The book can be considered as a syntactic expansion of previously published Statistics of Czech (2009).
