Military Law during Thirty Years' war on the Examples of Military Orders of Maximilian II and Gustav II Adolph

Abstract

It is possible to characterize some aspects of soldiers' life, usual contemporary problems of armies and their possible inner conflicts on the example of historical military orders of particular armies. The purpose of this paper is comparison of military orders of the Roman emperor Maximilian II and of the Swedish king Gustav II Adolf and indication of some elements of military law, which was executed in military camps of Thirty Years' War.
