The evolution of organisms as a topic to incite the discussion of pupils

Abstract

The evolution topics affect not only the biological principles but also incite metaphysical questions since it gives an explanation why we are here. On the one hand the evolutionary issue seems to be a highly problematic area within the teaching.

On the other hand this topic holds considerable potential to attract pupils to discuss. From the perspective of teachers the results confirm that the majority of pupils are interested in discussing this issue and teachers face many different questions from pupils.

The most common question pupils ask is related to the current development of humans.
