Abstract
Let's investigate the question Why and When the Need for Birth Assistence accually appeared. It is said that Obstetrics is considered as a craft old as mankind itself.
But is that really true? Let's have a look at the beginning of the mankind history in order to find out why our predecessors stopped giving birth by themselves with no assistance. Also let's try to find out the answer for the question What was the role of magic and religion in development of managing the whole childbirth procedure through out the primeval ages and ancient civilizations.
