The purpose of this chapter is to consider the regulatory role of the public sector wage from the perspective of the direct and indirect effect on the fight against discrimination in remuneration on the grounds of sex. The concepts of equality and public sector wage are explained in the context of the recent historical development of labour law regulations applicable to remuneration.
Attention to conceptual shifts in the meaning of this concept in current legal regulation with respect to the principle of equality and the prohibition of discrimination is paid.
