Abstract
In the second half of the 19th century came the perception of Jan Hus, a new dimension - began to be perceived as a national hero. Tomáš Garrigue Masaryk symbol of Hus used politically to pursue the creation of an independent state, and this program has found its place after the Czechoslovak Republic.
In 1920 was also founded the Czechoslovak Church, claiming to Hus reference. July 6, 1925 was officially celebrated Husův day, sparking a diplomatic rift Czechoslovakia with the Holy See.
