Particles and Language Myths

Publication at Faculty of Education, Faculty of Arts |
2015

Abstract

The authors discuss how pupils understand paricles as a word class. They point out that in spite of the fact that particles have an obvious communicative function, pupils are not taught to identify them by any other means but by memorising them or by using incomplete and incorrect aids.

University students have difficulties to identify particles too and so the students in the combined mode of study, especially teachers who study to supplement their qualifications.
