Abstract
Humans' ability to perceive and assess others on the basis of their faces and bodies is an important skill for everyday life (e.g., judging sex, age or personality and behavioural traits). In diverse areas of research including perception, neurosciences, behavioural sciences and social psychology photographs of faces and bodies are widely used as stimuli.
However, there are many factors affecting resulting photograph. The aim of this workshop is to introduce and demonstrate the fundamentals of generating photograph stimuli including exposure, depth of field, field of view, colour management, camera settings and lighting set up.
Moreover, practical tips for stimuli collection in the field will be shown. A specific time slot will be devoted to discuss the practiced methods and the pros and cons of the individual methodologies with active participation of workshop attendees.
The workshop should provide attendees with basic skills to produce their own photograph stimuli independently.
