Abstract
In October 2015 we commemorate the 220th anniversary of birth of well-known English poet John Keats, one of the most influential Romantic writers in Europe. This article presents life and works of John Keats, who is a member of the so-called Cockney School of Poetry - a term created by John Gibson Lockhart, who criticized Keats so much that he thus accidentally made him very famous.
