Abstract

The estimation of the seismic shear wave velocity is one of the essential parameters for assessing of G0 shear modulus. Investigated locality was situated in Brno city and consisted of so-called ""Tegel"" clay.

The field measurement was carried out using a seismic cross-hole method. The in-situ shear wave velocities VSH for the depth 6 - 13 m vary between ca. 310 - 400 m/s.

The obtained velocity values were compared with laboratory results. Some differencies between in-situ and laboratory measurements was found and interpreted.
