Abstract

The chapter published in a specialised book deals with the conception of didactic transformation of content in the diction of German general and art education didactics. It defines the terms of didactic reduction, transformation, and reconstruction as well as reflects on the shift of the content of each term.

Furthermore, it analyses the current state of the issue in the context of contemporary art didactics in Germany. The chapter also introduces the theoretical base for developing educational content in museum teaching.
