Abstract
The conference proceedings present the final results of a project realized by the Department of Slovakian History of the Faculty of Arts of Comenius University in Bratislava. The aim of the project was to organise a set of lectures with the participation of foreign lecturers.
The common theme of these lectures was the formation of individual identities of nations living in the Central and Eastern Europe. Furthermore, the consequential issues of creating necessary cults, myths and symbols were also discussed.
Most of the lecturers chose a specific theme from one of Central or Eastern Europe region's history and adopted particular approach, stemming from their individual methodological concept.
