"Benefit tourism" of the EU citizens from the point of view of European Union law

Abstract

This contribution deals with the problem of so-called benefit tourism from the perspective of EU law. Special focus is given to CJEU case-law related to social benefits in Austria and Germany.

The current state of EU law is characterized by a significant degree of legal uncertainty.
