Abstract
In his text "Nation and University", Karl Jaspers examines the meaning and environment of the university, its vocation and social responsibility, and the situation of Germany at the end of the Second World War. The text dates from 1947 and shows Jasper's experience of the effort at post-war renewal of the university and its place in society.
