Abstract
The human body and its experience presents a starting point of our understanding of the world and it is reflected in language, both in its common, every-day vocabulary and in specialized terms. This paper illustrates examples of expressions based on natural (naïve) and scientific conceptualization and categorization of our body and its parts in Czech phraseology and medical terminology.
