Abstract
The paper discusses possibilities of using open-source software for cooperation in library automation. For this purpose, the Integrated library system Evergreen, which was originally designed for large library consortia, and currently beeing employed by thousands of libraries and their consortia worldwide, was studied.
Besides the five-year experience of utilising of Evergreen in the Czech Republic, the example of its first implementation as a common catalogue of two independent libraries is presented.
