Recurrent ischemic stroke in young patient

Abstract

The communication describes a case study of patient without history of vascular of neurological disease with recurrent ischemic cerebral stroke. With searching for the possible cause of the accident transthoracic and transesophageal echocardiography examination was carried out.

Atrial septal defect with right-to-left shunt during Valsalva manoeuvre was found. Sinificance of this diagnosis and its possible association with recurrent stroke is dicussed.
