Abstract

Decision-making is a cognitive process that results in the selection of a course of action among several alternative scenarios. Managerial decision making is a set of theories, practices, concepts, and tools.The book is organized into seventeen chapters.

In the first chapter, the basic managerial decision making procedures (Occam's razor, brainstorming and brainwriting, Delphi method, Pareto analysis, force-field analysis, cost-benefit analysis, decision trees and histogram as a graphical representation) are described. The presentations contain a lot of examples from very different segments of practice (chess, telecommunications etc.).

The following chapters cover managerial decision of the government members, managerial decision in the large firms and improvement of the processes in firms, general analysis of the managerial decision in China, managerial decision in tourist industry, decision of the art director, management of the university, human resources and many other topics. The final considerations in the conclusion deal with the general trends in future including business intelligence.
