The usage of back-analyzed value of the coefficient of lateral earth pressure at rest K0 in Brno clay in numerical simulation of Dobrovského tunnel excavation

Abstract
In the article, we summarize the process of verification of back-analyzed value of the earth pressure coefficient at rest in overconsolidated Brno clay. It indicated K0 = 0,81 in the depth of 23 m and in the given position.
This value was subsequently used as initial condition in numerical 3D analysis of a particular portion of Dobrovského tunnel. The measurements of horizontal deformation by inclinometer and surface settlement trough agree well with the results obtained from the back-analysis.
