Abstract
Luan Starova's Balcan Saga revolves around the theme of exile. A series of ten books, each dealing with a specific global metaphor, the works are connected to the leitmotiv of the lost homeland.
The underlying theme of the series is the exile of the Starova's family evoked in close connection with the collective destiny of the Albanian people, threatened by assimilation. This is the case of arbëreshë living more than five centuries in Italy, maintaining their identity.
