Abstract
The critical analysis of two Italian translations of Ismail Kadare's novel Kështjella, based on Lance Hewson's methodology, which takes place in the field of study defined "Translation Criticism", brings to the conclusion that the 1975 translation (La fortezza) is "hybrid", whereas the 1981 translation (I tamburi della pioggia) is "metamorphosing". With this paper, I will explain the elements that support these two designations, by referring to the compared analysis of Italians translations, original novel and French version, which represents the source text for 1981 translation into Italian.
