Statement of the Academic Council of the Czech Dental Chamber: Dental alloys and their compatibility with magnetic resonance imaging

Abstract

MRI results may be influenced by the present metal objects with ferromagnetic properties. Cobalt and nickel based alloys are sensitive to artefacts.

Magnets and stainless steel are contraindicated for MRI.
