Abstract

The book discusses the development of Masaryk action abroad in Switzerland in the years 1915-1916, which at the end of the war resulted in successful diplomatic accrediting of the idea of independent Czechoslovakia on the international scene. The book focuses on several interrelated issues.

Besides looking the way propaganda works understanding staff and material Czechoslovak resistance in extremely difficult years of war economic depression, all this takes place against the background of confrontation with the Austro-Hungarian bureaucracy, which is by all means trying to Masaryk's efforts to thwart it.
