Right to Peace: Collective or Individual Right?

Abstract

This paper focuses on one of the "new human rights" - the right to peace. It analyses the legal basis of the right to peace and the concepts of peace and the right to peace, especially the issue of negative and positive peace and the collective and individual dimensions of the right.

It also analyses two different versions of the Declaration on the Right to Peace drafted by the Human Rights Council. The author draws attention to the particular provisions of the drafts, mainly from the perspectives of the individual and collective character of the right to peace.
