Abstract
The article describes the development of C-Tests as tools for assessing general language competence of native Russian speakers in Czech as a second language. It also explores the experience of the research team with a non-standard use of the C-tests results combined with grammar, lexical, phonetic tests results and the conclusions of a sociological research.
