Abstract
The article highlights the lifelong impact of Jiří Kraus on the development of Czech stylistics and particularly rhetoric. It presents Jiří Kraus as the founder of modern Czech rhetoric, building on the old traditions of the oratory art in Europe and the world.
The paper provides an overview of Kraus's work on rhetoric and style as well as his textbooks.
