Abstract

Article looking back at František Daneš's lifelong contributions to general linguistics and Czech linguistics, particularly syntax and phonetics, as well as his input on codifying textbooks and manuals. Daneš's life work is discussed in the context of his generation as well as the generation of his predecessors and his pupils.
