Abstract
The exhibition was focused on the uncovering of the past of the "land between the Nile cataracts" (i.e., the region of Egyptian Nubia and northern and central Sudan, between Aswan and Khartoum). The main attention was devoted to the role played in the uncovering of the past of this region by Czech (previously Czechoslovak) scientific teams.
For the first time, however, the Czech explorations were set in a broader international context.
