The article investigates the function the Ogdoad performed in the Ptolemaic-Roman temple of Dendara in regards to the acquisition of power by the main deities of the temple. The study of the scenes portraying the presentation of a variety of diverse crowns by the Ogdoad, often in the company of Thoth, to Hathor, Isis and to a lesser degree Horus of Edfu and Harsomtus brought a number of recurring themes to the surface, revolving especially around the primordial, universal and solar nature of the ritual of presenting crowns, and as such the kingship, and their divine recipients.
