Abstract

The functional cooperation between general practitioner and gastroenterologist is crucial for effective population based colorectal cancer screening. The introduction of an address invitation increased a number of screening examinations and caused prolongation of waiting times for a colonoscopy.

This work explored waiting times for a colonoscopy across the country, differences between hospital and ambulant centres and among regions.
