Abstract
This study is a part of the discussion devoted to the topic Biography as the part of historical writing. Its author deals in it above all with critical book reviews of his monograph about the leading Czech historian in the 19th century František Palacký (2009).
He stresses that the objectivity of the historical monograph can not hold back evaluation, why its author considers his protagonist as the personality, who is still important for the present times.
