Mass Surveillance of Citizens

Abstract

The Article focuses on the activities of the United States National Security Agency (NSA) and its international partnersoo global surveillance of foreign nationals and U.S. citizens. The Article outlines the steps that this scandal subsequently caused not only in relationship between EU and USA, but generally in the international community.

The author presents the most important legal documents protecting the human rights, which are particularly the right to privacy and the right to the protection of personal data. There are briefly discussed the universal and regional contractual instruments, with the attention devoted to the transatlantic agreements.
