Abstrakt
In 2007 Charles University in Prague began implementation of Central European Studies program. This new program was associated with a new approach to Slavic studies and the transition from a purely philological orientation towards the areal studies.
In this article we deal with the history of the new program and present experiences associated with its implementation. Building on this information we try to answer the question about the future of this type of study program.
