Porous materials are an attractive type of materials. Due to their unique properties they can be utilized in a numerous kinds of applications.
There are many different methods to modify their properties to improve their physical, chemical or biological characteristics. One of the most perspective is a plasma treatment, which allows to clean, activate and functionalize a surface of a material.
The main objective of this review was to show that plasma technologies can be an efficient method for a porous structures modification. It allows to change not just a surface of the material but also the surface inside the pores, without affecting the bulk properties.
Experimental data obtained during fabrication of TiN nanoparticles are presented as well. TiN nanoparticles were deposited by means of gas aggregation source as a model of porous structure.
