Abstract

Patients with hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) in B-stage classification according to Barcelona (BclC) are indicated for the palliative transarteriální chemoembolization as the method of choice. This group of patients is very wide and heterogeneous.

For a better differentiation of these patients and rationalization indications of the second phase transarteriální chemoembolization was designed ART.Cílem score following work was to demonstrate that score ART allows a group of patients with HCC stage BclC-B define subgroups with significantly better and worse overall survival (OS) repeated treatment transarteriální chemoembolization. This is a prospective study retrospectively combined OS cohort of patients with HCC in stage B according to the classification BclC monitored and treated at the Internal Clinic of the 1st Faculty of Medicine and Central Military Hospital in Prague.

Analysis was performed survival curve using the Kaplan-Meier estimate. Calculations were performed in software R.Medián OS examined group was 18 months (95% CI 12-33), median OS group with a favorable score ART reached 33 months (95% CI 17-36), median OS groups with prognostically unfavorable score ART then was 12 months (95% CI 6-18).

OS difference between the groups differentiated by ART score was statistically significant (p <0.01). Given this significant difference in OS in patients differentiated according to the score ART should be dealt with the possible revision of current guidelines treatment of patients with stage B according to the classification BclC.
