What can we learn from the mass of atomic nuclei?

Publication at Faculty of Mathematics and Physics |
2014

Abstract

Properties of atomic nuclei are mostly submitted to students to believe in them in education at all levels of schools from elementary schools to universities. Rarely, they are taught using experimental data - such as mass nuclei, binding energy, types of decays and properties decay products, spectrum of nuclear radiation.

The workshop was focused on demonstration of what is possible learnt on the basis of experimental information about the masses of nuclei obtained from publicly available databases, roughly on the secondary school level.
