Abstract

A significant uranium mineralization of a quartz-uraninite vein hosted in the exocontact of the Variscan Tanvald granite, represented by the typical assemblage of uranyl supergene minerals has been found at the new construction site in the municipality of Jablonec n. Nisou.

This unfavourable/harmful situation is a result of improper spatial planning process. The constructor has given the building permission even though the condtruction site has not met the safety requirements and the geological survey has failed.

Not only geological prospecting has been underestimated, but also the radon risk assessment has been udervalued.
