Abstract

Comparison of non-homogeneous group of sulfonamid diuretics according to pharmacodynamic and antihypertenzive effects, achieved organoprotection and especially evidence of cardiovascular risk reduction, allows a specific patient to optimize the selection of drugs. Published preclinical and clinical papers are the indirect evidence of chlortalidon and indapamid superiority compared to hydrochlorothiazide.
