Publication at Faculty of Arts |
2015

Abstract

Presented study is one of the 18 parallel texts reconstructing the concepts HOUSE / HOME in the languages and cultures of "Slavs and their neighbours"; it concerns the Czech concept of DOMOV (and DŮM, too). The book as a whole represents the 1st volume of the original international comparative axiological dictionary.

In accordance with the methods of Lublin school of the cognitive ethnolinguistics (prof. Bartmiński), presented study analyzes 3 types of information - systemic data (from dictionaries etc.), empiric data (questionnaire), and textual data.

On the basis of the data, profiles and semantic connotations of the concept of DOMOV are shown, just as the place of the phenomenon "domov" in the Czech picture of the world.
