Abstract

In the project GACR Reading comprehension - a typical development and its risks, we could not forget the didactic influences on the area of reading comprehension. In the present chapter we focused on the most important area - the teaching methods of reading.

As we know from other studies, the development of reading skills is linked to reading teaching method, students of the both methods may have partial differences in the development of various aspects of literacy. To be able to devote differences in reading comprehension through reading teaching methods we watched first the question of decoding in diagnostic tools we have used and broader context of reading technique, which follows the ways of reading (the grade of reading habits).

All aspects of reading skills, including observed reading comprehension, are related to the two most widespread methods of teaching reading - the analytic-synthetic methods and the genetic method.
