Abstract

A King had a primary role in ancient sumerian city-state Lagash/Gírsu. But which role did women and other members of the royal court play in this pattern in the 3rd Millennium BC? The archive of the city-state Lagash/Gírsu contains substantial information about many women by which we can conclude that neither the king's wife nor his descendants were completely unimportant.
