The chapter reflects the family environment and its influence on a child's success in school and literacy development. The theme of family environment influence has been discussed in the literature from the 70s and therefore the research project GACR Reading comprehension - a typical development and its risks couldn't ignore it.
In the research we try to answer questions such as: parents' education and family activities associated with reading correlate with the performance of the child in reading comprehension. Conclusions discuss findings based on non-standardized questionnaire for parents, which is part of the assessment in the Reading Comprehension Project.
