Publication at Faculty of Education |
2015

Abstract

The chapter pays attention to the factors of the school environment which affect the process of literacy acquisition, particularly the development of reading comprehension. For the purpose of the project "Reading comprehension - typical development and its risks" a non-standardized "Questionnaire for teachers" was created.

Its aim is to investigate teachers' didactical and methodical attitudes, and also specific activities and strategies which the teachers use for the support of reading skills development and reading comprehension. It also investigates the solving procedures of reading problems.

The design of the questionnaire, including both the theoretical framework and its results, are presented in this chapter.
