Abstract
The article informs about two international conferences which took place in Prague in the framework of ""the Week of the Czech Language Abroad"": The Heritage schools and the Diaspora on the 3rd August 2015, and VII. international conference of representatives of the Czech Schools without Borders on the 4th August 2015. The program of both conferences was focused on the concept of the maintenance of mother tongue abroad as an instrument of preservation of cultural and historical heritage of the state, on the benefits of bilingualism, access to diaspora, status and development of the teaching of the Czech language abroad through the Czech schools and on the comparison and exchange of experience of people who are engaged in the same or similar issues.
