Abstract
The chapter aims to introduce the evaluation of machine translation for a less frequently researched language pair (from German into Czech) using an analysis model commonly used for assessing human translation, taking into account various text types. This model was combined with a model recommended for evaluation of machine translations.
Generic machine translation systems were assessed and the goal was to create a hierarchical order of available systems in terms of product quality.
