Abstract
After many various attempts at unifying the terminology in school prevention in the Czech Republic, The dictionary of basic terms and concepts in risky behaviour prevention is a unique publication that completes original basic study materials currently under development. The book is intended for all persons active in primary prevention irrespective of their departmental and institutional affi liation and original professional education.
On the contrary, it should help to bridge precisely the variedness of original qualifi cations with which these persons enter the fi eld of school prevention. It will certainly provide a good guideline and support also to students of various university fi elds, the personnel of state administration and self-government institutions, donors as well as broader public.
The principal aim of the dictionary was to bridge existing professional and departmental approaches to prevention terminology, and to off er an explanation of essential terms and concepts in risky behaviour prevention, based on an actual interdisciplinarity and interdepartmentality. For its fi rst release the dictionary was created by the authors team as part of the project VYNSPI-1 (Development of Nationwide Modular Educational System in Risky Behaviour Prevention for Pedagogical and Counselling Personnel of Schools and Educational Institutions], Reg.
No. CZ.1.07/1.3.00/08.0205 ESF OP VK).
The second edition was prepared as part of the project VYNSPI-2 (Implementation and Evaluation of the Minimum Prevention Programme, System Tools in Education, and Development of the Nationwide Collecting System in Risky Behaviour Prevention for the Personnel of Schools and Educational Institutions, Reg. No.
CZ.1.07/1.1.00/53.0017), with the main aim to test and verify the results of project VYNSPI-1, and particularly to verify the possibilities of establishing a nationwide system of risky behaviour prevention at school for elementary school children in the proposed form.
