Abstract
The aim of the meeting is: - to introduce the planned ""Mental Health Reform"" to the key stakeholders, i.e. psychiatric hospitals, community care centers and especially to the regional governments who will play the key role in the implementation of the reform; - to put the planned Reform into international context and make comparisons between the Czech and British initial states of the Mental Health Systems and compare ways to go about it; - to share experiences with the transformation of the psychiatric institutions and with advantages of the transformation process and possible risks which could occur during the process; - to focus on practical aspects of the Reform; - to emphasize the role of the local governments (regions/municipalities) in the deinstitutionalization of psychiatric care.
