Abstract

This study analyses the live and work of the professor of the German Technical University and then the German University of Prague of the 1930s and 1940s, biochemist Ernst Waldschmidt-Leitz. He was a pioneer of chemistry of enzymes and of the application of enzymes for the cancer diagnosis.

Also, despite being a member of the NSDAP, he cooperated with Czech and American Scientists.
